Kitchen Accessories

Going live later this year, “Cookshopcookshop” will be far more than another cook shop. Indeed, kitchen accessories is only part of Cookshopcookshop - but no small part!

Run by Alan Eager, (a classically trained chef) Cookshopcookshop is dedicated to chefs and cooks of all skill levels, whether world class celebrity chef or novice just looking for kitchen gifts.

Alan’s family have been in business for generations and his great uncle Fred – a baker. Following in those footsteps Alan studied at Birmingham College of Food, Tourism & Creative Studies (formally The college of food and domestic arts), progressing (after graduation) through various positions including commis chef, garde manger, pâtisser, soucier, sous chef and head chef, eventually going on to run his own catering and restaurant business.

I have to dedicate this online cook shop to Roger Taylor – pastry chef lecturer who inspired me with his knowledge and skill (will he ever realise I mention him) and to Ray Sayers, lecturer and inspired chef who deserves a mention here also. It was these 2 chefs in particular that brought me on from enthusiastic amateur (cooking in my Moms kitchen) to a competent professional chef with confidence and pride in his own cooking (Indeed pastry work remains my passion).

The story doesn’t finish there though. Alan’s great grandmother was a cook in a Victorian household who wrote her recipes and these recipes were passed down to his Mother (interestingly predominantly pastry recipes).

Although in these days of exotic recipes, improbable combinations and celebrity chefs with (sometimes) hard to follow cookbooks Alan felt he would love to raise the spectre of those wholesome recipes and within this online cook shop he includes a number of these as well as:

Within the kitchen accessories section you will be able to look at recommendations, buy kitchen/cooks knifes, saucepans and more. Indeed it was the difficulty Alan experienced when trying to buy particular items or small kitchen accessories (Parisian cutter for example) that drove him to set up "cookshopcookshop"

The section on cookery book reviews includes practical consideration of each book, recipes tested and recommendations.

The recipe section includes guidelines, menu planning principles, dinner party ideas, and video stream of practical cookery tips, cookery demonstrations and more.

Kitchen gifts includes budget kitchen items to the more expensive beautiful copper pans which any chef would be proud to own.
